Wellspring boldy promotes the recovery of persons who have a severe and persistent mental illness through leadership in the development of affordable housing and rehabilitative services.
Wellspring's 28+ years of service proves that once individuals with mental illness have the stability and dignity of housing, the work of psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery can begin. Recovery from psychiatric illness does not mean finding a cure; rather, it means developing a satisfying, hopeful and contibuting life despite the presence of mental illness. Recovery is a unique process for each person; therefore to most efficiently promote recovery from mental illness, an array of options that meet individual clients' needs and preferences must be available. Without Wellspring, many of those we serve would be homeless, hospitalized, incarcerated, and even worse. But with the support of Wellspring's programs, over 4,000 area adults have been helped to find stability and ability- not just to settle for lives that focus on a disability.
